“I have walked the CA event since the age of 14 and was keen to ensure it’s future, hence volunteering to join the committee and help others in Hertfordshire enjoy the challenge.”

“For many years I wanted to take part in the East Herts Christian Aid Walk but work commitments always prevented it. Finally I managed to complete the walk in 2016 and 2017 and it is such a great event. I was happy to be asked to join the organising committee this year.”

"I've been walking for at least 20 years, I remember my eldest son, now 30, effortlessly completing the whole distance with friends age 12.  I joined the committee because I think the work Christian Aid does is so important, helping people of all faiths or none, to help themselves.  And the walk mirrors that by bringing together local people from many different churches and community groups.  So  I have stayed involved even after moving to North Wales and will enjoy the chance to catch up with lots of friends and acquaintances in May".

“I had been taking part in the Christian Aid Walk for about 10 years, either walking or helping as a marshal, before joining the organising committee two years ago.  I love walking in the countryside so, for me, it’s a way of making a big difference to somebody’s life while having a great day out!”

“I have been involved with the Walk for at least fifteen years. It continues to bring together supporters who raise much needed funds for Christian Aid. Long may it continue!”

“I am passionate about churches working together with their local communities to tackle global issues”

I've been involved in the East Herts Christian Aid Walk since the 1990s, first as a walker, then a marshal and, since 2003, a section leader and route planner. It's been a great event, and I'm pleased to have been able to play a part in maintaining the tradition - and the vital fund-raising.
